Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is a co-op sports game developed by Sega and Sumo Digital, and published by Sega for Wii U. The game was released in 2016, on the same day as the Olympics Summer Festival 2016.
The game features a total of 41 sports, including traditional events such as sprinting, high jumping, and swimming, as well as new events such as surfing, beach tennis, and beach soccer. The game also features a story mode, in which the player can control his characters to participate in Olympic events.
The game has single-player and multiplayer modes. In single-player mode, the player can choose one of three characters to participate in different sports. In multiplayer mode, up to four players can compete together.
