Star Fox 64 is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 in 1997. It is the sequel to Star Fox (1993), and the first installment in the The Star Fox game series was released for home consoles.
In Star Fox 64, players control Fox McCloud, commander of the elite Star Fox army. Fox and his teammates must stop the Andross gang from invading the Lylat System.
The game features first-person shooter gameplay combined with action and simulation elements. The player controls the Arwing, a space plane, in dogfights with enemies. In addition, players can also control other vehicles such as the Landmaster, a tank, and the Blue Marine, a submarine.
Star Fox 64 was critically acclaimed, and is considered one of the best games on the Nintendo 64. The game has sold over 5 million copies worldwide.
