Resident Evil 2 is a survival horror third-person shooter game developed by Capcom and published for the GameCube in 2002. It is a remake of the original Resident Evil 2 game released for the PlayStation in 1998. The game takes place two months after the events of the first Resident Evil, when Raccoon City, USA, is attacked by a deadly virus that turns residents into zombies.
Players can choose to play the game from the perspective of Leon S. Kennedy, a police officer new to Raccoon City, or Claire Redfield, the sister of one of the first game’s main characters. Both characters must find a way to survive in the infected city and find a way out.
The game features several improvements over the original version, including improved graphics, adjusted gameplay, and new puzzles. The game also includes some new content, such as a new chapter focusing on the character Ada Wong.
Resident Evil 2 was critically acclaimed and considered one of the best survival horror games of all time. The game has sold more than 5.5 million copies worldwide and is considered a critical success for GameCube.
