SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge is a 2.5D platform video game based on the Nickelodeon animated series of the same name. The game was developed by Climax Development, and published by THQ in 2001 for the Game Boy Advance platform.
The game is set in Bikini Bottom, where SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends prepare for the Independence Day celebration. However, their plans are interrupted by Plankton, who steals the Krabby Patty Secret Formula. SpongeBob and Patrick must work together to retrieve the formula and stop Plankton from taking over Bikini Bottom.
The game has gameplay similar to classic 2D platform games like Super Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong Country. SpongeBob can move, jump, slide, and use different items to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies. He can also use special powers, such as blowing bubbles and spraying water.
The game has five chapters, each chapter consists of four levels. Each level has a different theme and setting, such as the Krusty Krab, Jellyfish Fields, and Sandy’s Treedome. The game also has tough final bosses to defeat.
