Paper Mario: Sticker Star is an action role-playing video game developed by Intelligent Systems, and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012 in Japan, North America, and Europe. It is the sixth installment in the Paper Mario series, and the first in the series to be released on the Nintendo 3DS.
In the game, the player controls Mario, who defeated Bowser and saved Princess Peach in the previous game. However, a mysterious force has destroyed the Sticker Stars, which are needed to keep the Paper Mario kingdom alive. Mario must collect Star Stickers across the kingdom to stop this mysterious force.
The game uses a new combat system based on the use of Sticker Stars. Mario can use Sticker Stars to attack enemies, solve puzzles, and explore the world. Star Stickers can be found throughout the kingdom, or purchased from shops.
Paper Mario: Sticker Star received mixed reviews from critics. Some people praised the game for its beautiful graphics, good music, and fresh gameplay. However, others criticized the game for its simple combat system, lack of depth, and lackluster plot.
