Metroid Dread is a 2D action-adventure game developed by MercurySteam and Nintendo EPD and released for Nintendo Switch. It is the fifth installment in the 2D Metroid series and the sequel to Metroid Fusion (2002).
In the story, legendary female bounty hunter Samus Aran receives a secret mission to the planet ZDR to investigate X Parasites – a type of mysterious alien creature. Here, she faces E.M.M.I. – robots created by the Galactic Federation to destroy the X Parasites and fight to survive and discover the secret behind them.
Metroid Dread incorporates elements from previous 2D Metroid games, including exploring large areas, fighting enemies, collecting new powers, and solving puzzles.
With beautiful 2D graphics, fast action gameplay, and an engaging story, Metroid Dread is an excellent experience for fans of the Metroid series and lovers of the Metroidvania genre.
