Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest is an action role-playing game developed and published by Squaresoft for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1992. The game is the first installment in the children’s Final Fantasy series.
In Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, players control a young man named Ruff, who is chosen by the four elements to save the world from the evil witch Queen of Darkness. Ruff along with her companions, Leila, Elta, and Mid, will have to explore different parts of the world, fight monsters, and overcome challenges to stop the witch.
The game uses a turn-based combat system, in which the player can choose which attacks, spells, and items to use. Characters can upgrade their powers and skills using experience points (EXP) earned from defeating monsters.
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest was positively received upon release, with critics praising its graphics, music, and accessible gameplay. The game has sold over 3 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling games on the SNES.
