Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is a side-scrolling action video game developed and published by Konami for the Game Boy Advance. It was released in 2001 in North America, Europe and Japan. It is the 12th installment in the Castlevania series and the first installment in the Castlevania: Harmony of Despair series.
The game is set in 1797, before the events of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The player controls Nathan Graves, a young blacksmith seeking revenge for his father’s death. Nathan was trained by a man named Magnus, who taught him how to use magical cards to fight against vampires.
The game features the same gameplay as previous Castlevania games, with the player controlling Nathan moving through levels, and fighting vampires and other creatures. However, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon introduces some new features, such as a magic card system. Magic cards can be used to perform special attacks, summon helper creatures, or even change Nathan’s form.
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon was highly regarded by critics, who praised its gameplay, graphics, and music. The game has sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide.
