Project:;COLD case.mirage is a unique crime-solving role-playing game developed by D.A.G and published by Bandai Namco. Unlike conventional detective games, you will transform into an amnesiac, using simulation tools on your computer screen to gradually discover a shocking truth.
A fire, many mysteries and stolen memories
The fire that occurred at the Mirage Forest cafe took the lives of five girls. However, when waking up in the midst of the chaos of memories, the main character is shown a video showing that one of the victims – Runa Yoshinaga – seems to be still alive. Why did you lose your memory? Was the fire really an accident? Or is there a manipulative hand behind it all? The answer can only be revealed if you are patient enough to follow each piece of remaining data.
Solve the case through data lines
The game allows you to question deceased victims, but recreated through a digital AI model. Conversations with them can lead you to conflicts, reveal motives and uncover secrets they never revealed when they were alive. Each conversation is a real battle of wits, where you need to carefully observe every reaction and deduce from the smallest things.
You can also access the girls’ personal phones, follow photos, messages, applications – all of which can become the key to unlocking the truth. In parallel, you will look up information on newspapers, blogs and digital documents using the collected keywords. Each line of text, each post can contain a piece of the whole picture.
Security cameras also play a central role in reconstructing the scene. Not only watching, you will have to piece together audio, visual and time data to see the holes in each person’s story.
Pushing the truth to light in Deep mode
As the evidence is gradually uncovered, you will activate “Deep” mode – where the truth is pushed to the ultimate limit. The layers of mask will fall, and you will witness the true nature of each character. This is not just an investigation, but a psychological confrontation with the fear and guilt hidden deep inside each trapped soul.
