Pokémon Diamond is a role-playing video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. The game is the sixth installment in the Pokémon series and the second installment in Generation IV. It was first released in Japan in 2006, and in North America and Europe in 2007.
In Pokémon Diamond, players take on the role of a young Pokémon trainer who begins their journey to become a Pokémon Champion. They begin their journey in the town of Twinleaf, where they meet either Dawn or Lucas, who will become their rival throughout the game. Players begin by choosing one of three starter Pokémon: Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup.
The game takes place in the Sinnoh region, a vast land with many cities, towns, and regions to explore. Players can collect new Pokémon, train them, and battle other trainers.
