Pokémon Colosseum is a role-playing video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the GameCube in 2003. It is the first game in the Pokémon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness series.
In the game, the player takes on the role of Wes, a young man living in the city of Orre. Wes is asked by a man named Rui for help in rescuing Pokémon from Team Snagem, a criminal organization specializing in kidnapping and trading Pokémon. Wes takes on this mission and begins his journey to rescue the Pokémon and overthrow Team Snagem.
The game has similar gameplay to other Pokémon games, but there are some notable differences. First, Pokémon battles take place in a circular arena, rather than on a field of grass. Second, players can capture Pokémon from Team Snagem by defeating them in battle. Third, players can use special items to weaken their opponent’s Pokémon.
Pokémon Colosseum was highly praised by critics and is considered one of the best Pokémon games ever released. The game sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide.
