Mega Man X is a side-scrolling action shooter video game developed by Capcom and released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1994. It is the first game in the Mega Man Direct sequel to Mega Man 7.
The game is set in the 22nd century, after humanity has migrated from Earth. X, a fighting robot created by Dr. Light, is tasked with destroying Sigma, another fighting robot turned villain.
